Knew God before religion
Knew happiness before money
Found pain before happiness
Found heart break from a man before loving one.
Felt fear before heart break
Felt alone before fear
Was private before I was alone
Was innocent before it got private
Exchanged innocence with silence
Exchanged silence for a pen
Found my voice to survive
Found life after tragedy
Knows happiness after it all because
I Know God after all
